It can be quite amazing to see your child bossing at you, and you might as well get angry at your child’s behavior, but will your anger help your child – NO. There is a different way to handle Bossy kids and they should be handled in a particular manner otherwise your child turns to be stubborn and will not listen to your words.
Here are few tips to handle a Bossy child:
- If your child reacts in a bossy way, do not act in a negative way. Just tell him politely to repeat his request in a polite manner.
- If your child orders you to do something, simply ignore it. He has to understand that he is not your boss.
- Supervise his social activities and encourage him to spend time with groups.
- Complement him for his good behavior and praise him in front of your friends when he behaves well.
- Involve him in non-competitive games at home and teach him to work in team.
- Encourage him to take part in games which require team work.
- If your child does not have friends, don’t sympathize with him. Instead make him realize why he doesn’t have any friends.
- Whenever you get a chance, try to make him realize that Bossy behavior is bad and it spoils relationships.
- Teach him to express himself in such a way that it sounds very bold and assertive than bossiness.
- Help your child to be a soft spoken and kind person.
Handling a Bossy child can be easy if you treat him the right way. Be careful that you don’t give him negative attention or else he will turn to be more Bossy and demanding.

I will love to have more information of how to handle a bossy kid.
Mi son has 4 years, I’m in the middle of a divorce process, and he is being agressive and bossy.
