Do you know that it takes the mind at least 8 - 10 minutes to clear out other distractions when anyone sits down to study? Attention is something which does not come easily to children. It is very difficult for a child to be attentive all the time. Every parent gets to hear this comment that their child does not concentrate in class. As a parent you must have also noticed that your child cannot sit more than an hour at the study table, it is a very common problem that kids face. Anyway you can help your child to be more attentive by following these tips.
Tips To Increase Your Child’s Attention Span:
- Plan a special routine for your child. During exams see to it that he maintains those timings.
- The right type of furniture is very important, make the study room as comfortable as possible for your child.
- Your child should feel very relaxed when he sits on his study table.
- Let him take breaks while studying as he might fall asleep if he studies continuously.
- Let your child choose the study time because some children are comfortable studying at night while some at the day time.
- Give your child a target to complete. E.g. tell him to complete the given questions in an hour.
- If the TV room is close by the study room, make sure that he is not distracted.
- Take care that the TV is switched off when your child is studying.
- Give your child light foods to eat, he might feel lazy and sleepy if he takes heavy food.
- Encourage your child to do well in his exams.
If you follow the following tips then it will help your child to be free from tension and he will be more attentive in his studies.
