Babies have a lot to convey. They have their own language, consisting mostly of sounds and utterances. Adults also communicate differently with babies. Tips to Understand Baby- Talk
- One can use sign language to convey to babies. Hand movements help a lot. The baby observes the movements of the hands and reacts accordingly
- Verbally also, you have to repeat words twice or thrice with facial expressions. If you smile while conveying something, the baby also laughs, assuming that it is something funny you have said
- Gentle physical strokes also help you to convey effectively to the baby. The baby feels you are showering affection upon her. Physical touch coupled with verbal mutterings can mean a lot to a baby
- One tends to speak more loudly than usual. The words are also pronounced more slowly. More emphasis is given to them. Some verbal sounds are made, which makes the conversation more lively
- Babies listen very attentively. They like attention and enjoy when people talk to them. If they go unnoticed, they draw attention to themselves, either by making noises or even crying
- Playing with a child is also baby talk. Through play you can convey messages to the baby. You can explain things to him or her. Babies do understand. They smile back to indicate their acceptance
- One can also teach the baby. One can explain what a particular item is or whether you are annoyed or happy with the baby
- One should maintain eye-contact with the baby

- Read to your baby. He or she loves to listen to poems or stories

Baby talk is not as difficult as it appears. Parents know their child well and accordingly convey messages. Adults talk to babies differently. They also make similar sounds like the baby. Bridge the gap between you and the baby by mastering baby talk.
