Making your kids clean their rooms can be exciting and fun. Initially, they may need your help, but soon they will be cleaning their rooms themselves. A clean room is an attractive room where all the things are easily accessible for your kids.

A clean room would mean less rush in the mornings before your kids go to school. When kids learn to keep their rooms clean, they become more organized in life.

  • Organize:

    Organize your kids’ room by allotting specific places for toys, laundry, books etc. You can buy baskets, hampers for your kids to put their belongings. Kids can easily clean their rooms when they have sufficient place to keep their things

  • Keep the shelves within their reach:

    Make the shelves, baskets reachable for your kids. Based on the height of your kids, ensure they can reach the shelves easily to take and put back their belongings

  • Buy boxes and label them:

    When a room is littered with lots of things, putting them into boxes is very easy. You can also label the boxes as toys, books, other stuff etc to keep their belongings more organized

  • Be specific:

    When you ask your kids to clean their rooms, be specific in asking them what to clean. For example, you can ask your kids to clean the bed first, then the floor etc. This would make them less confused

  • Be consistent:

    When your kids clean their rooms daily, it becomes a habit. Encourage your kids to keep their rooms clean and tidy every day

  • Rewards:

    A reward such as an ice cream or playing in the park for keeping their room clean will encourage your kids. You can even try saying, ‘No playing till your room is clean’, or ‘No playing with your computer until your room is clean’ etc.

    Teach your kids to clean their room in an orderly way. For example, you can ask your kids to collect the toys in the basket first, clean the bed, and then clean or vacuum the floor

Making your kids clean their rooms will make you proud. This will also save a lot of your time. Hence, it is much better to teach your kids to keep their rooms clean, than doing it yourself.
