Signs and Symptoms of Teething in Babies

The signs and symptoms of teething in babies are so different. You can ask anyone to learn that the tooth pain could affect the whole body.

So, how would you know if your child is teething? First of all, you need to think about the age of your child. It should be between three months and one year. Some common signs of teething are crying, biting, and chewing. If he/she refuses eating or drinking milk because of loss of appetite, you can consider it as a sign. He/she could have runny nose as well. The most common sign is having a fever.

Also, you would realize that your child puts his/her finger in his/her month. You can also check your baby’s gum. During and before teething, they become red in general.

Is My Baby Teething or Is Something Going Wrong?

As we mentioned that having fever is sign of teething. But, it also a sign for many other illnesses. That is why, you need to find out if your baby is cutting new teeth. If you cannot be sure of that, check with your pediatrician. Especially, if your child has a high fever, it is better if you take your baby to a doctor just to be sure. If your baby is cutting new teeth and anything is wrong, you would have just a simple check-up.

If you are sure of teething, then you can try to be on guard. When your child is cutting new teeth, she/he would feel itchy almost all the time. Also, he/she would want to bite anything he/she finds. To help your child, you can get him/her a tooth scratchy. Since they need to bite something while teething, it would be good option to consider. They come in so many colors and shapes, so it wouldn’t be hard for them to be interested in them. They are soft and totally harmless.

It might be a hard time for you while your baby is teething; however, it is not a permanent situation. It would help you to know the signs and symptoms of teething to realize if your baby is cutting new teeth.
